For as long as he can remember, music has been a part of Addison Lea Thompson’s life. From an early start in church choir to beginning to write and play his own music in high school, Addison was destined to be a musician. He was born in Monroe, Louisiana on the Ouachita River, raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved west to stake his claim as a cowboy out in the Rocky Mountains where he found inspiration for the stories he sings. Addison possesses a distinctive sound based in traditional country and honky tonk, as well as a driving rock sound that is all his own that keeps your toes tapping and your heart feeling. He incorporates his unique perspective of being a cowboy and living in the Rocky Mountains into his songs, and brings a heavy hitting rocking style to the stage every night. He uses his background and influences of country, blues, and rock in his songwriting. The driving force behind Addison’s music is the hardworking cowboy “Never Say Die” attitude woven effortlessly throughout his lifestyle and writing. With a powerful voice that is full of emotion and a strong guitar style, Addison brings a unique flavor to his shows. His goal is to reach audiences with heartfelt songs at one moment and have them on their feet having a good time the next! Addison’s first EP, Wapiti, debuted in May 2018 and his latest project, Prophets & Pain, was released in August 2023 with high praise from critics.
